Hari Shankar Kishore (HVAD): lecture on electronic music production
HVAD is a Copenhagen-based electronic music composer, producer, and sound engineer. HVAD has established himself as an important figure in Copenhagen's underground music scene and runs two notable organizations: the record label Syg Nok and the sound studio Kommunal Dubplate Service. His works also feature environmental recordings, including the rattling of taxi doors, choirs from Danish churches, street sounds and the crackling of vinyl records. HVAD strives to achieve a sense of world culture that is "beyond multicultural" and blurs the boundaries between art and everyday life.
In this lecture, the musician will talk about his creative work and achievements. The talk will be accompanied by sound recordings from the Kommunal Dubplate Service archives and HVAD's latest explorations.
The lecture will take place on September 29 at 4:00 p.m. in the building K2 of the Art Academy of Latvia, Kalpaka Boulevard 13.
