Summary: “Blinkers” is an installation that concludes a year of workshops with schoolchildren, students, and members of the wider community who participated throughout the year in workshops led by Gauthier. This installation was presented as part of the GMEA Riverrun annual festival at Le Frigo. 

The turn signal — with its muted ticking and intermittent light that quietly inhabits our everyday lives — modestly hides behind an abstract functionalism.

Composed of numerous turn signals arranged on the floor in a gentle semicircle within a soothing dimness, the installation Blinkers creates a natural, immersive space for listening.

The result of several years of research and enriched by a series of workshops inviting diverse audiences to take part in the prototyping and making of the work, this installation is conceived as an ecosystem-in-progress — offering these objects new possibilities for emancipation, exchange, and collective expression, as well as a space for encounter and interaction with us, human beings.
