As part of her residency, Zoé Febvre—Utrilla, aka Dolores, invites participants to a workshop focused on AI Voice Covers (AI-generated vocal reinterpretations of existing songs) and sampling as tools for collective creation and sonic reappropriation.
Drawing from a sample library generated during the residency, participants will explore new approaches to musical composition. The workshop aims to question our relationship to voice, reproduction, and the emotional memory of songs by experimenting with AI-reinterpreted fragments.
The session will begin with an introduction to the techniques used to generate AI covers, including a presentation of the tools and vocal models involved, as well as a live demonstration of the process. This technical and conceptual overview will lead into a collective creative phase, where everyone will be invited to manipulate, transform, and recombine samples freely.
The goal is to explore the multipotential of sampling — from simple reuse to poetic subversion or complete transformation. The sounds created during the workshop will contribute to an open-access sample bank, which participants can also enrich with their own contributions.
No prior technical skills are required — the workshop is open to anyone curious about the artistic potential of voice technologies and sampling in creative practice.
