A viagem d'Os Heróis Indianos Romanos Africanos
As part of a project initiated by OUT.RA in 2016 in collaboration with Associação Nós, an NGO from Barreiro dedicated to promoting social inclusion for disabled individuals or those in vulnerable situations, Os Heróis Indianos Romanos Africanos is a band/collective comprised of roughly 20 musicians that annually workshops and presents its music to the local community.
Led by the charismatic Alan Courtis, an Argentinian traveler and musician who founded the legendary Reynols (the first band with a neurodivergent member to grace the cover of Wire magazine and receive extensive coverage in publications like the NY Times), assisted by the local musicians André Neves, Bernardo Álvares, and Leonardo Bindilatti, the project will this year grace OUT.FEST’s two-decade milestone as its opening concert. As part of the tekhnē consortium, which explores the emancipatory potential of technology in music, Os Heróis Indianos Romanos Africanos' appearance promises an operatic show, loosely defined – true to the chaotic yet blessed spirit that has defined them, but with a narrative that, in its own unique way, depicts a journey, both real and metaphorical, entirely conceived by these special musicians.
