Au delà du son

Summary: Félix Blume shapes sound as a material to create his sound pieces, videos, actions, and installations. His creative process is often collaborative, involving local communities.

Exhibition FELIX BLUME
JUNE 27 to NOV 9 2025
in collaboration with the art center Le Lait

Invited to a residency in Albi by Le Lait art center and the GMEA, Félix Blume chose to develop a work in collaboration with deaf and hard-of-hearing participants. To this end, he partnered with the Centre Spécialisé Déficients Auditifs (CSDA) of the Fondation Bon Sauveur d’Alby. Here, the notion of listening extends far beyond the auditory realm. It is, above all, a matter of sharing — listening as a way to understand others, to step into their world, and to discover their relationship to it.

Alongside this new production, a selection of previously existing works will be presented in the exhibition Beyond Sound, which reflects both the diversity of themes explored by Félix Blume and the strong coherence of his body of work. Whether addressing the plight of migrants in Brazil, working with blind individuals in Mexico, recreating the sound of a swarm, or focusing on the street dogs of Belo Horizonte, the artist consistently adopts a sensitive, grounded approach — one that stays close to the field and to the people with whom he collaborates.
